Stars Wowed with Colored Gems at the Golden Globes

The 2015 Golden Globe Awards brought together top names in show business for an event full of praise, heartfelt speeches and striking fashion. The theme of the night seemed to be elegance, with a sea of black, white, red and other classic colored dresses flooding the crowd.

While sparkly white jewelry was popular, some of the most remarkable celebrities graced the red carpet in sophisticated colored jewels that perfectly complemented their gowns.

Yellow

Cheerful, yellow diamonds instantly light up any outfit, and several striking stars were seen illuminating the red carpet with the gems. Allison Janney, best known for her role in the hit drama “The West Wing,” was the face of sophistication in her flowy red gown and natural side swept hair. The contrasting yellow diamond earrings that she chose were a perfect complement to complete the classically beautiful look.

America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift was also seen wearing gorgeous yellow gems, and while it’s impossible to tell from the photo whether they’re diamonds or some other jewel, they instantly amplified her sleek, pale yellow strapless gown. The yellow gems worked perfectly with her gold and silver accents and her staple red lip.

Classically beautiful star Felicity Jones also opted for the warm jewel tone to grace her ears with a black circle backdrop that highlighted the yellow stone. Paired with a conservative teal ball gown, the colors magnificently contrasted and added an interesting twist to her elegant look.

Blue

Another colored gem that swept the red carpet was the striking blue seen on stars like Cindy Crawford and Dita von Teese. Although both donned blue earrings, the two wore them completely differently.

Crawford enhanced her form-fitting electric blue Versace dress with blue sapphire and diamond earrings, while von Teese chose blue topaz, diamond and tsavorite earrings to complement her printed black and blue gown. Both women looked striking and elegant in their dresses, and the blue stones highlighted all of the right parts of their outfits.

Red

A bold, daringly beautiful color, red is not for the faint-hearted. “Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick displayed her fearlessness in the form of red sparkly earrings to bring out the detail in her Monique Lhuillier gown.

The gems beautifully reflected the pattern throughout her dusty rose dress, as well as the red ribbon around her waist. A simple updo with her hair neatly tucked back helped bring even more attention to the bold gems highlighting her jawline.

Black & White

In addition to the lifetime award that George Clooney received another Clooney got a reward.
