Everyone knows that a birthday is incomplete without the perfect cake, but how much would you pay for the cake of your dreams?

Debbie Wingham, a 33-year-old fashion designer from the South Hampton, England, was previously known for creating the world’s most expensive wedding dress. Wingham recently outdid herself by creating the most expensive birthday cake in the world. The designer was hired by some of her clients from the United Arab Emirates to make an unforgettable cake for their daughter’s birthday/engagement party. Using her creative strength, Wingham decided to do a 6-foot-long replica of a Vogue fashion runway complete with miniature models dressed in Wingham’s couture line.

264.5 lbs of fondant, 132.3 lbs of chocolate and 4,000 diamonds

According to The Daily Mail, the cake, which took Wingham roughly 18 hours to complete, had over 264.5 lbs of fondant, 132.3 lbs of molding chocolate, and over 80 different colors of edible airbrush. The final product weighed a staggering 992 lbs. The weight isn’t even the most impressive thing about the cake. Wingham’s treat cost about $74.53 million.

The hefty price tag is the result of the 4,000 diamonds that serve as decorations on the already-stunning confection. The Mirror reported that the cake was topped with “50 two-carat black diamonds, 50 two-carat white diamonds, 1,899 black-and-white pointer diamonds and 1,000 pointer rubies.” For proportions, each 2 carat black diamond is worth $6,000.

And as if that’s not enough, to make the cake even more special, pink & yellow diamonds were added as the secret ingredient – a 6.4-carat yellow diamond, a 5.2-carat pink diamond and fifteen 5-carat white diamonds. At the heart of the whole cake lies the world’s most expensive red diamond, which costs $7.38 million on its own.

Wingham tackled the entire 42-day process, from planning to implementation and creation, by herself. When Wingham’s clients are done enjoying the cake, the diamonds that topped it will be given to the family’s daughter as a present to mark her special occasions.

This cake is one of the most impressive in history, but will there be another that will outshine it?
