‘Push Presents’ Become Popular Trend Among Celebrities

Delivering a baby is undoubtedly a lot of work. Even though women have been going through this life process since the birth of mankind, in 2013, ladies are getting big and beautiful presents for withstanding the pains of labor. “Push presents,” as they’re appropriately called, have been growing in popularity thanks to a slew of famous men who have given their girlfriends and wives glamorous and over-the-top rings or other pieces of jewelry as a thank-you for giving birth.

Beyonce
Beyonce certainly roped in a keeper with husband Jay-Z. Not only did the New York City native propose to Beyonce with an 18-carat emerald-cut diamond, but he also rewarded her for giving birth to their first child, daughter Blue Ivy, in January 2012.

According to MSN Wonderwall, Jay-Z presented his lady with a stunning blue tanzanite ring to honor Blue Ivy’s birth. While this present is impressive, Jay-Z had diamonds on his mind for his and Beyonce’s fourth wedding anniversary in April 2012. New York Daily News reports Jay-Z visited an elite jeweler to check out a number of blue diamonds. The famous rapper was most interested in a rare group of “Lumina” blue diamonds. Bey has been seen sporting various blue rings, so perhaps Jay went through with the purchase.

Mariah Carey
Known for her love of white and colored diamonds, it might come as no surprise that songstress Carey was gifted with a major piece of jewelry following the birth of her and husband Nick Cannon’s twins, Monroe and Moroccan, in late April 2011.

Cannon went all out with his push present for Carey, presenting her with a diamond-encrusted nameplate necklace with each child’s name on it. The piece read, “Monroe and Moroccan” in a mix of white and pink diamonds.

Jennifer Lopez
Fabulous push presents must have something to do with having twins, because like Carey, diva Jennifer Lopez also earned a stunning (and larger than life) colored diamond piece for giving birth to twins Max and Emme in February 2008.

According to MSN, Lopez was presented with a $2.8 million yellow diamond ring and matching yellow diamond earrings for giving birth to her and then-husband Marc Anthony’s twins. The ring was made more special by Anthony, as he had it engraved with each child’s name.

Though yellow diamonds have grown popular for engagement rings, this is one of the first times a celebrity has received the stunningly shaded stone as a push present.
