August 11th, 2015 by Noam Flint

Tiaras are a symbol of royalty bestowed on some of the most powerful female leaders. Often made of shiny metal, the prominent pieces are typically covered in jewels that add to their rarity and uniqueness.

The Argyle Pink Diamond Tiara features gems that convey a gentle kind of power. Pink diamonds represent creativity and love – two traits that every great queen or princess should have. These jewels make the tiara a significant investment of beauty and rarity that can make anyone feel like royalty.

A Pink Diamond Tiara is Born

The one of a kind tiara was designed by iconic jeweler Asprey of London back in 2010.

The striking design did not go unnoticed. Mr John Glajz, Authorised Partner of Argyle Pink Diamonds, commented on the special design:

The Argyle Pink Diamond Tiara combines the mystique and romance of a bygone era with the design of a contemporary treasure. This is truly a unique piece that showcases beautifully the colours, sizes and shapes of rare pink diamonds from the Argyle mine

Rio Tinto’s Argyle Pink Diamonds business manager Josephine Archer added:

We are delighted with the design of the tiara which has the simple yet subtle mystique that all great jewels should have

The tiara includes 178 rare pink diamonds and is a colorful display of wealth and power. All together, the tiara is made up of 20 carats of pink diamonds, and was sold a few years ago to Linney’s, a well known and highly respected Australian jewelry retailer.

After keeping the diamond studded tiara on display in their showroom several times, the retailer decided that the piece was too special to give back. As soon as it was available for purchase, Linney’s made a $2 million investment so they can now call it their own.

More than Meets the Eye

The tiara contains a striking arrangement of jewels, but its beauty goes even deeper than what’s on the surface. The Australian jewelry retailer decided to move forward with the purchase of the piece because of its significant role in the region. Covered in pink diamonds originating in the Argyle diamond mine in Kimberley, the tiara symbolizes a major part of Australian culture. Not only that, but the projected diamond production for the mine is diminishing over time, signaling that the colorful jewel could be growing in rarity.

One of the largest sources of the most intensely colored diamonds may soon move down in rank, making this piece even more special as time goes on. In just six more years, the Argyle pipe in the Australian mine will be considered unprofitable. The beautiful jewels have almost met their limit, and that makes these pieces especially grow in demand.

A tiara truly fit for a queen, the Argyle Pink Diamond Tiara will forever be known as one of the most beautiful, striking pieces that has ever existed. It’s not available for sale just yet, and most likely won’t be anytime soon. Diamond enthusiasts will just have to visit it on display in the meantime and revel in its natural beauty.
