Gretchen Rossi is as Nontraditional as her Yellow Diamond Engagement Ring

Fans of the “Real Housewives of Orange County” likely know Gretchen Rossi for her loud mouth and good looks, but more recently it’s for her gorgeous yellow diamond engagement ring. While yellow diamonds continue to be popular among celebrity couples, how Rossi obtained hers is a bit more nontraditional.
According to The Daily Mail, Rossi shocked fans, and her boyfriend Slade Smiley, when she decided to propose to him during the July 29 episode of the popular reality TV series. Not only did she write and record a song for Smiley to make it official, but she also gave him a ring in honor of the celebration, while gifting herself with an over-the-top yellow ring.

Rossi, who runs a handbag and cosmetics line along with starring on the show, spoke to Us Weekly about her unconventional love affair and her decision to pop the question:
Anyone that knows me knows that I don’t really do anything that’s not outside the box. That’s just how I always have lived my life. I don’t do things that are very traditional.
One thing’s for sure: the TV star had no problem showing off her spectacular ring. According to Life & Style magazine, Rossi’s engagement ring boasts a 4-carat square set canary yellow center stone with a halo of white diamonds around it. The large sparkler sits on a diamond band with large stones similar to the ones surrounding the center diamond.
Rossi is just the latest star to say “yes” to a yellow diamond. Fox News reports singer Kelly Clarkson was recently given a similar style yellow diamond ring from beau Brandon Blackstock, while Carrie Underwood, Adele and Rebecca Romijn all keep yellow diamonds close to their hearts.
