Diamonds come in all shapes and sizes, and even one that weighs in at just a few carats is more than enough to make a lasting impression on those who catch a glimpse of it. That’s why it can be difficult to imagine one that weighs over 100 carats. However, the Golden Empress Diamond, a new piece presented by Graff Diamonds, meets those grandiose measurements.

A Yellow Diamond that Glows

The Golden Empress is a striking necklace that exceeds everyone’s greatest dreams of a diamond. The piece is covered in a total of 31 yellow diamonds of various shapes and sizes, with the largest one at the center. The main gem is a cushion-cut Fancy Intense yellow diamond weighing 132.55 carats that just seems to glow. Whether it’s being worn or simply on display for others to enjoy its bold beauty, the piece is sure to be remembered forever.

Every diamond has a story, and this one is no exception. Found deep within the mines of Lesotho, the African gem was 299 carats in the rough form. It was purchased by Graff Diamonds’ owner Laurence Graff and cut into eight diamonds in addition to the Golden Empress, which is the largest statement piece to come from the original. The other gems included six pear shaped yellow diamonds that weighed 21 carats and under, as well as two round diamonds.

Adding to the Luxurious Lineup

The Golden Empress joins the lineup of other luxurious statement pieces offered at Graff. One of the most prominent diamond companies in the business, Graff Diamonds is involved in the jewelry making process from start to finish. From sourcing the raw stone to cutting and polishing it into a beautiful piece of jewelry, Graff selects some of the most striking gems. This piece joins a colorful array of famous diamonds, including the Wittelsbach-Graff Diamond, a Flawless Natural Fancy Deep Blue diamond that weighs 31.06 carats. It has roots in royalty, and that should come as no surprise to those who see the extremely rare beauty.

The Graff Pink is another famous diamond that the Golden Empress will be joining. Weighing in at 23.88 carats and one of the rarest pink diamonds on earth, it is considered internally flawless by the Gemological Institute of America, which is an exceptional grade to be given to any diamond, let alone an especially rare pink diamond.

The rarity of these stones is what makes them so intriguing to the public. Whether you collect diamonds of your own or simply appreciate their beauty, these pieces are sure to take your breath away.

The only question that remains is how much does the 132.55 carat Golden Empress Yellow Diamond is worth? Care to guess?
