Did Margot Robbie get a Pink Diamond Engagement Ring?

Based on photos from the premiere of Legend of Tarzan in Los Angeles this past Monday night, it looks like mega hot Australian actress Margot Robbie, of Wolf of Wall Street fame, is engaged to boyfriend of two years assistant director Tom Ackerley.

The 26 year old actress showed off what looked like a massive pink diamond engagement ring with her ensemble for the evening. It caught everyone’s attention because of its positioning on her left ring finger, its vibrant pink color, and gorgeous diamond halo setting.

Maybe by chance or maybe pink is Margot’s favorite color but bringing an Australian a pink diamond is practically a must!

Most of the pink diamonds that are mined annually originate in Australian diamond mines, specifically the Argyle mine that is operated by Rio Tinto. Australia is well regarded for its pink diamonds and holds international status and respect for their natural pink treasures.

Ever since Jennifer Lopez famously received a pink diamond engagement ring, and more recently trendsetter Blake Lively as well from husband Ryan Reynolds, pink diamond engagement rings have come to the forefront of status and fashion. Whether you choose to mount your pink diamond in a more vintage style in rose gold or a more modern look in white gold or platinum, pink is the most exciting trend in jewelry today.

But… Is That Really a Pink Diamond?

Well… it is a pink gem, it is a ring and it appears to be on the right finger. This means that Margot has gotten a pink engagement ring. But, from this to assume that this huge pink looking gem is a pink diamond is a leap of faith (or maybe wishful thinking?).

In my opinion, the ring in the picture does not actually feature a pink diamond as the center stone. Based on the depth of the color in the photos, it is either an extremely expensive pink diamond with amazing intensity and a very large carat size, making her fiancée the possibly mysterious buyer of the Unique Pink – or more likely, not a pink diamond at all.
